Here at 13 Souls we are very proud to have been able to help out ‘The Radford Lad’ Mr Ron Booth with a new Wordpress blog.

Both a dear friend and also a dedicated volunteer and charity supporter for well over 40+ years, helping charities, voluntary and educational projects with his memories and experiences of the war and also growing up in Radford Nottingham.

Ron is a 77 year old Radford lad with energy and enthusiasm in abundance that we could all learn from, his new Wordpress blog has been put together to make himself and his work more accessible, that’s right Ron is completely up to speed with Web 2.0, and also to enable people to maybe look for, or find out about local people and places from both past and present, Ron has already helped a number of people trace relatives from literally the world over.

Ron also heads up a personal crusade to remember, and honour soldiers that hold the Victoria Cross medal,the highest military award for valour presented in the UK, for acts of extreme bravery and heroism, that have sadly been forgotten and often pass without the recognition they really do truly deserve, Ron works thanklessly to raise funds, research and organise the renovation and reinstatement of new headstones and memorials with full military honours for those unsung heroes.

It’s always nice to have our work appreciated so we were very happy to hear from Lindsay, a youth worker and artist who works with the homeless charity Save the Family.

Lindsay found one of the magazines we’ve created with young people in Nottingham, when she googled ‘young people’s magazines’ recently. She liked what she saw and got in touch with us to ask for a copy of the magazine – ‘as an example of what can be achieved’ in Lindsay’s words – and to inspire the young people she works with.

Lindsay is planning to run a similar project with young people and it’s great to think that young people from Nottingham will be inspiring other young people from North Wales to create their own magazine!

In total we produced three magazines with young people at risk of social exclusion, in partnership with a local neighbourhood charity, the Partnership Council, and the local youth inclusion team for Radford, Nottingham.

Lindsay has promised to keep us up to date with her project so watch this space for more!

Definitely The End

We are very proud to announce that 13 Souls have been chosen to develop the identity, branding and website for East Midlands based ‘End Game Interactive’ or ‘EGI’ a small but perfectly formed contingent of cutting edge game developers.

Details are very ‘Top Secret’ at present so we can’t really reveal very much, but from the sneak peek that we’ve had into what’s to come ‘End Game Interactive’ is set for big things – more as we get it!

The Final Transition

We were very excited when we received a finished printed copy of the ‘Regional Transition Guidance Booklet’ that we had been working on. The whole commission was based around some very stringent NHS guidelines as was expected, but we are really pleased with the final booklet and we always love a challenge.

Always Learning

We were recently able to help out the team at the WEA (Workers’ Educational Association) a voluntary sector provider of adult learning - www.wea.org.uk

They have been organising a series of ‘Family Learning Projects’ and needed some pretty speedy promotional material to spread the word, time was against them and something needed to happen, we gave them a helping hand with a simple yet vibrant A6 postcard to help draw in the crowds.

Truly Electric!

Something that isn’t often a regular request here at 13 Souls is vehicle graphics, however it is something that, believe it or not, we are more than familiar with.

Wesley Mee a self-employed electrician decided that maybe his van needed a little sprucing up, and upon recommendation our telephone rang!

Here you’ll see the final results of a logo and layout for his works van, this job was a very quick turnaround and a really nice break from the norm.

Happy New Year from 13 Souls!

Well that’s it for another year – the decorations are packed away, the chocolates are eaten and it’s time to get back to work.

Our New Year has started on a high hopefully as we’re busy pitching for lots of new work. Plus of course, we’re helping our clients to make sure 2010 starts with a bang too.

Fingers crossed we’ll have plenty of good news to tell you over the next few weeks and once again, welcome to 2010 and the start of a new decade!

An Early Blossom

‘Blossoms Of Bloomo’ a brand new autobiography based on the life and times of Bernice Kozlowski, her friends, family and treasured memories of Radford, Nottingham.

Bernice approached us upon recommendation and we were more than happy to help. We have been commissioned to retouch some very old and frail photographs that will be featured in the autobiography to help really bring the past back to life, the old terraced houses, dance halls, streets and shops plus some amazing characters!

Over forty images have now been retouched and restored and we can’t wait to see them in all their glory very soon.
